Poloncarz Appoints Hodgson Russ Partner Jeff Stone to SUNY Erie Community College Board of Trustees
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has appointed Hodgson Russ partner Jeff Stone to serve on the ten-member SUNY Erie Community College Board of Trustees. With an enrollment in excess of 10,000 students, and with an annual operating budget in excess of $100,000,000, SUNY Erie is the second largest college in Western New York. “Jeff will bring vast experience, leadership, and strong counsel to the SUNY Erie Board of Trustees, and I thank him for accepting this appointment to serve our community,” said Poloncarz.
A life-long resident of Grand Island, and a graduate of the University of Rochester and the University of Michigan Law School, Jeff has spent his entire 35-year career at Hodgson Russ, where he heads the firm’s public finance practice in the Buffalo office. He focuses on securities, tax, education and municipal law matters while serving as bond counsel to most of the school districts in the greater Western New York area (helping them to plan and implement their capital improvement projects).
He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the NYS Government Finance Officers Association (sitting as a member of the Western Region Advisory Council for that group) and several local chapters of the NYS Association of School Business Officials. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Buffalo’s Irish Classical Theatre Company.
