Hodgson Russ recently represented two manufacturers of protective vests used by the U.S. military and law enforcement in a patent infringement case filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The plaintiff alleged that our clients infringed certain patents directed to a protective vest with an emergency release system. After a lengthy period of discovery, the court granted the defendants’ summary judgment motion of non-infringement and dismissed the case in its entirety on the eve of the trial.
