Hodgson Russ Attorney Victoria Saxon Named to Best Lawyers in Canada
Hodgson Russ LLP is pleased to announce that partner Victoria Saxon has been selected for inclusion in the 10th edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada in the Banking and Finance Law practice area. Because Best Lawyers is based on an in-depth peer-review survey in which attorneys cast votes on the legal abilities of lawyers outside their firm who practice in the same legal and geographic areas, inclusion in Best Lawyers may be considered a singular honor.
Vicky is resident in Hodgson Russ’s Toronto office and leads the firm’s Banking & Finance Practice. She concentrates her practice (limited to U.S. law) in financing transactions and frequently assists both borrowers and lenders with a broad range of such transactions. Her experience includes acquisition financing, syndicated lending, asset-based lending, high-yield debt, public and project finance, receivables purchase, and equipment leasing transactions. Vicky has also dealt with the related areas of letters of credit, intercreditor agreements, and interest rate swaps. She has acted as borrower’s counsel for both privately-held and publicly-traded companies and nonprofit and educational institutions, and as lender’s counsel for non-institutional and institutional lenders. Vicky has been the lead lawyer both in the structuring, negotiating, and documenting of these transactions as well as in work-outs and restructures. She has represented a trustee on the closing of complex bond transactions and on defaulted transactions.
Because of her experience in cross-border finance, Vicky has developed an understanding of the differences in financing transactions in Canada and the United States, allowing her to better customize her U.S. legal services to the needs of Hodgson Russ's Canadian clients.
