Falls City Council Moves Forward with Plans for Centennial Park Project

Assisted by Hodgson Russ, the City of Niagara Falls has taken the first steps towards developing Centennial Park, a mixed use amusement and recreational project that will unlock land that has sat vacant and undeveloped for a generation. The Hodgson Russ team of Daniel Spitzer, Joel Terragnoli, Adam Perry, and Terry Gilbride guided the City through the condemnation process. The work included leading the SEQRA review process, including preparation of the negative declaration, and piloting the Eminent Domain Procedure Law proceedings. The project site had been held by a developer for over 20 years without any activity, even though the property sits near a major casino and tourist district receiving millions of visitors a year.
