Zoning Enforcement in Local Justice Courts

This session will review the statutory framework for the enforcement of local zoning codes and the preliminary administrative enforcement steps that serve as the foundation for court proceedings. We will also discuss the role justice courts play in the zoning enforcement arena including the issuance of administrative search warrants and prosecution of violations. We will also review and discuss recent criminal justice reform legislation and how it impacts zoning and building code enforcement cases.
