New York is the 16th state to legalize adult-use recreational cannabis and is expected to become one of the largest markets for legal cannabis in the country. New York's legislation, titled the New York State Marihuana Regulation and Taxation Act, will create a new industry in New York that is estimated to bring in over $350 million a year in tax revenue and provide 30,000 to 60,000 new jobs across the state.
