NYS Paid Sick Leave Law and Other Pandemic Leave Laws
The New York State Paid Sick Leave Law requires all private sector employers to provide sick leave to their employees each calendar year: employers with 0-4 employees to provide up to 40 hours of unpaid sick leave each calendar year; employers with 5-99 employees to provide up to 40 hours of paid sick leave each calendar year; and employers with 100 or more employees to provide up to 56 hours of paid sick leave each calendar year. Accruals begin September 30 and employees are eligible to begin using sick time January 1, 2021.
Get the facts about the NYS Paid Sick Leave Law and how all private sector employers need to change their policies to accommodate its accrual, carryover, and use requirements. Additionally, the presenters will discuss how the new law interacts with state and federal pandemic related paid sick leave programs.
