Hodgson Russ Hosts WNY HCP Annual Chapter Legislative Breakfast

This past Friday, Hodgson Russ LLP hosted the Western New York Chapter of the New York State Association of Health Care Providers (WNY HCP) for its annual Chapter Legislative Breakfast. Home care providers engaged with state legislators in an informative dialogue about legislative priorities and implementation of wage actions going into effect on January 1, 2024. Hodgson Russ Partner and HCP Chapter Secretary Roopa Chakkappan welcomed HCP’s Vice President of Public Policy Laura Ehrich to set the legislative stage. Home care provider agencies illustrated the value of home care and addressed the need for sustainable funding mechanisms to stabilize this historically-underfunded industry. State Senators and Assembly Members were given the opportunity to respond and ask questions, informing their decision-making for the upcoming State Budget. The event was an excellent way for legislators, home care providers, and attorneys from our firm’s Home Care Practice to engage in positive and impactful discussion.
