Hodgson Russ Attorneys Assist Client in Securing $18 Million in Federal CHIPS Funding

Hodgson Russ assisted client Atlas Copco through its subsidiary, Edwards Vacuum, in securing $18 million in federal CHIPS funding for its $319 million manufacturing plant under construction in Genesee County.

Our attorneys guided the client through its agreement with the U.S. Commerce Department to receive funding through the federal CHIPS and Science Act. A supplier to the semiconductor industry, the company is building a manufacturing plant for dry-vacuum pumps in the Science and Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park in the Town of Alabama.

At full capacity, the new plant could employ 600 people.
