Matthew G. Cameron Joins Hodgson Russ LLP
Hodgson Russ LLP is pleased to announce that Matthew G. Cameron has joined the firm as a partner in its Corporate & Securities Practice. With more than fifteen years of experience in both the United States and Canada, Matt will significantly expand the firm’s cross-border capabilities in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, securities, and general corporate matters. As a member of the firm’s Canada/U.S. Cross-Border Practice, Matt will be joining a team of U.S. lawyers dedicated to serving the U.S. legal service needs of Canadian and other international clients and their professional advisors.
“As a former client, I have always been impressed with the quality of the legal advice and the level of service provided by the firm. Now that I’ve made the switch back to private practice I’m thrilled to be joining the Hodgson Russ team,” said Matt. “Being Canadian, I look forward to working with the other members of our Cross-Border Practice to continue to build our practice north of the border.”
“We are thrilled to have Matt join our team of lawyers advising Canadian companies and individuals on U.S. legal matters,” said George J. Eydt, managing partner of the firm’s Toronto office. “He brings a unique skill set into play, having worked in private practice and business on both sides of the border, as he now focuses on providing U.S. legal advice. We look forward to his presence in the Toronto office.”
Prior to joining Hodgson Russ, Matt was chief legal officer of a publicly traded national outpatient healthcare services company where he led the legal group across multiple acquisitions and a number of credit, institutional debt, and bond financings, in addition to leading its capital markets registration and reporting activities.
Before that, he practiced in the Toronto office of Stikeman Elliott LLP. Matt has led cross-functional and multi-jurisdictional teams to execute complex and varied transactions involving owner/operators, private equity investors, venture capital investors, and public companies. His work stretches across numerous industries such as private equity, healthcare, manufacturing, food, software and technology, and energy and power.
